Is multiple myeloma curable?

Is multiple myeloma curable? My mother was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after removing some cysts in the spine and a bone marrow biopsy also confirmed that. Is is related to blood cancer? Can we cure this completely? Who is specialized in this treatment in tamilnadu, india? Kindly give me a solution regarding further treatment regarding this, where can I get proper treatment less expensive etc., as we are from a low middle class family? Pls. give us a solution. Kindly help me to save my mother.
Kindly help. My mother has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The following is the diagnosis of bone marrow biopsy:

Bone Marrow shows significant plasmacytosis and reduced haemopeiesis consistent with multiple myeloma. It shows plentiful free cells. Normal haemopoietic elements are mildly reduced. There is distinct plasmacytosis with atypical binucleated forms (30-40%).

Kindly please advise me about the treatment options, minimum period of survival for the patient who is now 59 years old, institutions with economical or free treatment (as the treatment is very expensive which I am not bearable) available in India (Tamilnadu or near tamilnadu).. success history of alternative medicines, particularly, hemeopathy, the nature of treatment (what the treatment does and how to support the patient from the side effects. etc.

I cannot express the affection over my mother as everybody has, I am hopeless without her. kindly kindhearted help me pls.

Multiple myeloma is a cancer of bone marrow (cancer of plasma cells).

This cancer is difficult to treat because it is present at multifocal level (that means present at multiple sites of bone). It's behavior of progression can be suppressed by treatment.

It can be cured with bone marrow transplantation. But, usually this cancer develop in relatively older age group and patient may not be eligible for transplantation.

Myeloma is not considered curable. However I have patients out 10 years with myeloma, some of whom have no evidence of disease at present. Whether they are cured or not is speculation, but cure is not what is sold to the patient at the time of treatment. Autologous stem cell transplantation has made a major impact in this disease, along with multiple other drugs such as thalidomide, lenalidomide, bortezomib, etc. Allogeneic transplant theoretically represents a curative option, though very very few patients are eligible for this and it is a highly morbid treatment for any patient.

Myeloma.org is a great website for more info. They probably have resources that may help you find doctors in your country who could help.

God bless, best wishes
