What cancer would form on the ribcage?Hello, I'm curious as to what type of cancer would form on the outside of the lower rib cage. The outside part of the rib cage meaning you can feel the cancerous growth.
Thanks!

If you are referring to a growth on the rib then it can be a type of bone cancer or like a previous poster mentioned a metastatic growth on the bone.

A sarcoma is a cancer of the bone, muscles, ligament, cartiliage, fat, blood vessels, and soft tissue in the body. There are over 50 sub types of sarcoma . .and there are a few that are known to form on the ribcage as a primary site or as a metastatic site.
A few well known types of sarcoma found in the rib cage: Ewings sarcoma, osteosarcoma, Primitive neuroectodermal tumor, Chondrosarcoma, and there are other soft tissue types as well.
You can conduct a search at the National Library of Medicine for relevant research and data concerning primary ribcage sarcomas.
