Does cancer cause loss of sense of humor? My 14 year old adopted daughter has cancer and is beginning to lose her hair due to the chemo. To cheer her up, I bought her a giant clown wig. But she failed to see the humor in it.

no.....cancer itself doesn't cause a loss of a sense of humor...the fucking hell and horrors of going through chemo cause pain (emotionally and physically).....it is this pain that causes a loss of a sense of humor... i mean honestly if you were up all night puking your brains out would you be humored or entertained by such a parents attempted playful jest? that is keeping in mind that you too feel like your on fire and in ice at the same time...i'd be cranky...bordering on the edge of homocidal.

You're being insensitive...
Seriously not the right thing to give to a teenage girl when she's losing her hair.
Maybe some nice scarves, or a quality wig.
You want to make her happy.

cancer probably doesnt cause you to lose your sense of humor. but, u know cancer can make people sad because they hav cancer! and ofcourse when your sad you dont find things as funny. thats a really nice gesture tho and if u happen 2 catch her in a good mood she'll probably find it funny

Yes, yes it does.

i wouldnt laugh either. put yourself in her shoes. if you were losing your gorgeous head of hair would you want someone to buy you a clown wig??? probably not. be more sympathetic!!! this is a scary situation to some one who is that young or any age really. you need to stop and consider how it would make you feel before buying anymore gifts.
