What type of cancer is it when you have a brain tumor?My friend has a brain tumor and I don't know what type of cancer it came with. The tumor is the growing type if that helps at all.

Cancers occur when one type of cell transforms and loses its normal characteristics. Once transformed, the cells grow and multiply in abnormal ways.
As these abnormal cells grow, they become a mass of cells, or tumor, so the brain tumor in your friends brain has caused brain cancer.

There are over 100 types of brain cancers!.....Benign tumors grow and so do Malignant ones....it is hard to answer your question.

There are a number of types of cancer that can cause brain tumours. If you want to know which one your friend has, you will have to ask her.

Anything that can affect the brain or grow in it is called a brain tumor. It isn't necessarily cancer. If it is growing, it needs attention.
A lot of 'brain tumors' are meningiomas which grow outside the brain and inside the skull and are very, very common. They are almost always benign and only need attention if they grow and crowd the brain.
