It means that you have a lesion in your left hip bone. What did your doctor suggest to you for treatment? Are they doing a biopsy? It would most likely be causing you pain in your left side. I would go back to the doctor and discuss your options...could be serious

You have a lytic bone lesion (lytic bone lesion - lesion where some type of bone destroying process is taking place) about 2.3cm in size (approximately an inch and 1/8 in size) located on the back left side of your pelvis. Yes it could be cancerous but there could also be other causes for this type lesion. Your Dr will probably want to do a CT or MRI if they haven't already, plus probably a bone scan, possibly a PET scan and eventually a biopsy of the actual lesion. All this testing will happen quickly and might take from 2-3 weeks. Depending on what they find you will soon have a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. Yes this lesion is what is causing your pain.

Good luck
