Is it possible to get eye melanoma cancer at age 16?


Is it possible to get eye melanoma cancer at age 16?I'm asking because i'm 16 and there is a family history of it.
I have a bump on my eye and the dr. said it loos like something is poking the iris out. what do you think? could i have melanoma? i just want some opinions or facts or something.

definitely possible. i had a friend who had it @ age 13. I would recommend getting whatever treatment is necessary. don't delay something like this, especially with a family history.

You can get it at any age from what I understand. If your doctor is aware of it, he should probably be running some tests and looking further into it.

I read an article a few months ago about a 2 month old who was diagnosed with retinal cancer, so I think anything is possible. If you are worried, have your doctor do a biopsy.
