Could lactic acid be responsible for increase telomerase activity in some forms of cancer?

Could lactic acid be responsible for increase telomerase activity in some forms of cancer?Just a question I have after reading an article..

Answer by David Woynarowski
According to the man who discovered the human telomerase gene, Dr Bill Andrews, cancer cells turn on telomerase "by every means imaginable" including derepression, mutation over expression, recombination. Cancer cells have very short telomeres on average and massive over expression of telomerase is a prerequisite for their survival. That said it is more likely that lactic acid is by product of cancer cells increased metabolism than an inducer of telomerase. BUT: any basic research scientist will end every statement as follows probably even in answering the question as to whether gravity works: "More research is needed"
