Can someone talk to me about symptoms of Prostrate Cancer and Bone Pain?

Can someone talk to me about symptoms of Prostrate Cancer and Bone Pain?I feel weird writing this because I am a Chiropractor and I have studied cancer and symptoms and stages. My mom had breast cancer 14 years ago and is doing good and I thought that cancer was finished in my family.
So, in school I learned a lot about cancer and I have treated patients with cancer. But when it hits home it is a totally different story. I am in not in a professional mode, I am in the daddy's little girl mode.

My dad has had prostrate problems for a very long time! It was not big deal after they ruled out cancer and he goes to a Urologist for several years. This time his PSA level came back an 8. Which is not good. What is weird in the last year 3 out of 6 of his brothers underwent treatment for Prostrate Cancer.

My dad has been on my mind because when I go visit family I get emails to bring my table for an adjustment or a massage. For the past year my dad does not want me to touch him. He is in so much pain. I thought it was arthritis and gave him medication to rub on his joints. He did not want it. I asked him why. He said, his "bones ache all over, from neck to ankles." I have read my text books but I am afraid to ask colleagues because I am afraid what they might tell me. So, I decided to write on here to hear from others that may have experienced this with their cancer or cancer scare. I am scared he could have bone cancer but I do know body pain come with Prostrate Cancer. He goes to see a Urologist that specializes in Oncology on Monday.

All advice and truthful symptoms will be appreciated!!!

PSA isn't the be all and end all of diagnostic tests. That being said, with the family history provided, it is a distinct possibility that he has Prostate cancer. The bone pain could just be arthritis. The other possibility is that the pain is a result of metastasis to the bone. One of the primary sites of prostate cancer metastasis is to the bones. Again, it is only a possibility. I wish you and your family all the best.
