Can Osteosarcoma be Mistaken for Scar Tissue? Can osteosarcoma in the shin be mistaken for scar tissue?

Answer by AbbynotGabby
On x-rays, I guess it could be possible for osteosarcoma to be mistaken for old damage to the bone. Osteosarcoma is pretty variable in appearance on x-rays. A bone biopsy would easily tell the difference, though.

This would probably depend on what testing has been done.

It would be unlikely that a mistake like this would be made.

i know in my lungs its hard to tell sometimes cos on a scan spots that show up can be scar tissue or they can be dying cancer. but on your bones its easier to tell
