Can mascara and eye shadow use increase your cancer risk?I heard on the Dr. Oz show that products containing petroleum or petrolatum have been associated with an increase risk of certain cancers in women. I think on the show it said that women who used lipstick or lip bam or petroleum had a higher risk of breast or another cancer. I would like to know the risk associated with mascara and eye shadow use? What happens when you constantly get these products in your eyes?

there are a few make:up companies that don't use: or use very little toxic additives :: you shouldn't put the make:up so close to your eye or that far down on your eyelashes that it will get in your eye anyways!
makeup love: there is no warning on baby oil & it contains mineral oil::

there aren't any warning labels on genetically modified foods & they are causing cancer & infertility =[

I think that sounds ridiculous. If makeup were that harmful there would be a warning on the label.
Kind of like cellphones and radiation, you know if might happen but you use it anyways.

If mascara and eyeshadow increased the risk of cancer, nobody would use either one and the cosmetics industry would be bankrupt.
As for petroleum being dangerous, that's not true. The man who invested vaseline used to eat a tablespoon of it a day and he lived to be 110. Additionally women have been using vaseline on their faces for decades and people have been putting vaseline on babies bottoms for decade. If what you heard on the Dr. Oz show were true, most of the population would have cancer. It can't be true.
