Are my lymph nodes swollen due to melanoma?

Are my lymph nodes swollen due to melanoma?I have been referred to have a mole removed on my lower back with my dermatologist saying it looks "Suspicious"

Recently i havnt been well though with Chesty coughs, runny noses and general flu symptoms.

Could the lymph nodes (Groin) be swollen just due to myself being run down in general or could it be to do with my mole on my lower back?

The lymph nodes are swollen because they are fighting a mild illness in your body. When you are well again, the swelling will go away. This is probably not related to the mole on your back. And, it is very common for a physician/dermatologist to recommend removing any mole that has an irregular shape/color to prevent the possibility of skin cancer.

I doubt the two have anything to do with each other. You have been ill, and the lymph system fights infections, so that is probably why you notice some swollen nodes. I know your Dr. can give you more complete information than me, so give him a call. I think it will help alleviate your worries.

Good Luck.
